During the first quarter of 2023, the top 5 social networking applications in Italy exhibited varied performance trends in terms of downloads, revenue, and active users. Here’s a closer look at the performance of BeReal: Photos & Friends Daily, WhatsApp Messenger, Telegram Messenger, Google Meet, and Facebook.

BeReal: Photos & Friends Daily saw a peak in weekly downloads during the week of January 9 with approximately 148K downloads. However, downloads declined towards the end of the quarter, reaching around 57K in the week of March 27. Weekly active users started at 1.4M at the beginning of the quarter and saw a slight decline to approximately 1.38M by the end of March.

WhatsApp Messenger experienced consistent weekly downloads, peaking at around 110K at the end of December and stabilizing around the 67K mark by the last week of March. Active users saw minor fluctuations, starting at 24.7M and ending at approximately 24.3M by the last week of March.
